Weekly writing prompt #144
You are reading the words of a gal who has—as of Wednesday—submitted all her graduation requirements for her M. 👏🏼 F. 👏🏼 mutha 👏🏼 fuggin’ 👏🏼 A. Pausing to take stock, reflect, and celebrate is something I tend to have a hard time doing. Nobody knew the definition of relax in my household growing up, so I always feel a little jolted (and suspicious) when I’m reminded to celebrate a win. But in terms of accomplishments, this one is big—like BIG, big. So for the remainder of the year, I plan to be at hot-spring-capybara levels of rest & relaxation.
I also wanted to show some love to those who have submitted this year—first timers and returning submitters alike—plus a super special shoutout to those who submit very consistently (you know who you are!). It is a genuine joy and privilege to be the custodian of your submissions. Reading them always makes my week, and I hope these prompts have supported your practice in some small way. Thank you for opening yourselves up, taking creative risks, and trusting me with your words.
As a reminder, this newsletter will be on hibernation mode with the first email of 2025 landing in your inbox on January 19th. A lil’ heads up teaser that I will be migrating the newsletter to Substack, and it will start going out under a new name (goodbye Creative Juice, hello [???]). As a sort of informal survey, I would love to know what role Creative Juice played in your life this year and what idea or change you’d like to see implemented. Have a wonderful holiday ❤️, til 2025.
With great cheer,
Jamie
