Today, a creative crossover.

The below prompt takes inspo from Wong Kar-wai’s In The Mood for Love—an absolute gem of Hong Kong cinema. It’s a slow-burning master class in aesthetics, yearning, and all that’s left unsaid.

Prompt: Take any of the below quotes from In The Mood for Love and use it as inspiration for a scene, reflection, microfiction, poem, or perhaps moody letter to your ex-lover.

- "It's already happened. It doesn't matter who made the first move."

- "In the old days, if someone had a secret they didn't want to share, you know what they did? ... They went up a mountain, found a tree, carved a hole in it, and whispered the secret into the hole. Then they covered it with mud and left the secret there forever."
