Daily Writing Prompt #24

Raise your voice

One aspect of what makes someone feel real on the page is their voice: the things they say and how they say it. Whether it’s your real-life sassy auntie or that cranky old 7th-grade math teacher of yours, everyone’s got their own way of speaking.

Fiction prompt: Write a scene in which your character is depositing a check and interacting with the teller.
Poetry prompt: Write a poem in which there are two styles of voice.
Non-fiction prompt: Introduce us to someone memorable from your life include some of the things they used to say.

Reply to this email by end of day to share your writing. Then see what everyone else wrote (no names!) in tomorrow’s newsletter.

P.S. If you have ideas for writing prompts or resources you like to use for prompts, please share! Trying to replenish the well 🙂
